When you take folic acid supplements, your body must transform folic acid into folate. Otherwise, your cells can't make use of the nutrient. You can get vitamin supplements with folate instead of folic acid, but they are less common and usually more expensive. But ideally, you should take folate if you decide to supplement (look for 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, or 5-MTHF, on the label). Taking folic acid supplements may cover up problems with low vitamin B12 levels.

Among various anti-aging health products, nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) has been gaining an increasing attention as a promising anti-aging product. The mitochondrial decay, which is responsible for aging, can be reversed by the increased levels of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) in the body. NMN is a precursor of NAD+ that acts as an intermediate in NAD+ biosynthesis, while dietary supplements of NMN are found to increase the NAD+ levels in the body .
Some people's bodies can't properly absorb B9 in the folic acid form.14 This means they may be consuming the right amount of folic acid through fortified foods or supplements, but because their cells can't make use of the vitamin, they still aren't getting what they need.
Those with the genetic MTHFR mutation (changes to a gene that are linked to certain medical conditions) can experience this. People with this mutation may be at a higher risk of miscarriage, some pregnancy complications, and having a child with a neural tube defect, risks which may be related to poor folic acid/folate absorption.
That said, it's important to discuss MTHFR in detail with your physician. Not everyone who has a variation is considered to have a mutation or to need treatment.

Is a very important antioxidant that increases fertility in both men and women. According to a study published in Fertility and Sterility, lipoic acid improved IVF results in 101 aging women.
Further, 600mg of Alpha-lipoic Acid (ALA) increased the total sperm count, sperm concentration, and motility, according to a 2015 randomized clinical trial – male study. Its food sources include potatoes, spinach, and red meat.
In recent years, it has been applied as adjuvant therapy for female infertility as a novel antioxidant. Actually, NAC has been used to treat polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) with menstrual cycle disorders and ovulatory dysfunction, and it has been shown that the pregnancy rate in patients with NAC is three times higher than in control patients, with the former having a higher live birth rate.

Women were also divided into five groups according to quintiles of intake of individual B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, B12, folic acid, niacin and pantothenic acid). In these models, the relative risk was computed as the risk of infertility in a specific quintile of cumulative averaged intake (22) compared to the risk in the lowest quintile. Tests for linear trend were conducted by using the median values of intake in each category as a continuous variable.
